SQL Job Commander

Throughout the years managing many SQL Server® instances, I wanted more from SQL Server® Management Studio when working with SQL Agent, such as copying jobs between instances, or, visually seeing upcoming job schedules, SQL Job Commander is my attempt to make that experience better.

While this project was announced back quite some time ago here, it is making progress, admittedly not as fast as I would like, but will be worth the wait.

I started the project in January 2024, and not satisfied with how it was looking outdated with the controls being used, about 10 months into the project (November 2024), I decided to start fresh using different controls for a more modern UI look and feel and targeting a newer .NET platform to make future updates easier. Additionally, since Windows® 10 had limited support life at that point, I decided to make a Windows® 11 development environment too.

I'm targeting Q2 2026 for an initial alpha release. Keep an eye on my blog or check back here for additional updates.
