What's New

• This release upgrades SQL Job Commander to Avalonia 12 and .NET 10, with a range of new features and quality-of-life improvements.

Job Monitor Enhancements

• The Job Monitor can now be opened either as a standard tab or as a separate, detachable window - configurable per connection and remembered with your recent connections.
• Added p95 runtime statistics per job for clearer performance insight at a glance.
• Added a historical heatmap view, displaying up to 31 days of job history.

Usability Improvements

• Session logs can now be searched by instance.
• Theme preference (Light, Dark, or OS-detected) is now saved and restored automatically.
• New Dashboard tab for an at-a-glance overview.
• New Preferences options:
  • Set whether Job Monitor opens as a window by default (unless overridden per saved connection)
  • Choose your preferred theme: Light, Dark, or OS Detect

Updates & Licensing

• When downloaded from brentec.ca, the app now checks for new versions automatically on startup, or on demand via the notification icon in the bottom-right corner of the main window.
• Feature access has been renewed through November 30, 2027.

Enhancements

• UI/UX improvements, including:
  • Improved tab-stop behavior in the main window and session log, so non-visible elements no longer steal focus.
  • Dialog boxes can now be dismissed with Esc keypress and support default button assignments for faster keyboard navigation.
  • Better theme management across secondary windows.
  • The Job Monitors tab is now only shown once a connection has been established, and only when it isn't already open in its own window; Session Log is now the default tab.
  • Expanded license details under About > License.

Known Issues

• Individual day filtering in the Historical Heatmap does not remove the selected day from the bar chart.
• Intervals may appear empty in the Historical Heatmap for jobs that span multiple intervals. Currently the start and end interval are populated.

Known Issues

• Should a Job Monitor connection to an instance fail, the status of the SQL agent is not updated appropriately.
• When creating or editing a job, the same schedule can be chosen more than once. However, on save, duplicate schedules are removed.
• There is no immediate indication of an error should one happen while copying a job to another instance. However, the error is output to the session log.
• The Success Rate metric shows NaN when it should show 0 (zero) when a success rate has not been established, i.e., no jobs have run.
• If the Job Monitor grid is sorted by any column and the data is refreshed or the theme is changed, the column sort is reset.
• Clearing Job Monitor filters using the Clear selected filters button successfully resets the view, however, the status line count is not indicative of what is shown.
